Stop Look and Listen !

THE FIRST ALBUM

In may 1992 Greg won 40 hours free recording studio time from Townsvilles Studio 19, owned by Allan Castleton, an expatriate Kiwi musician/producer. This prize was awarded to Greg at the wonderfully successful long running annual Charters Towers Country Music Festival. The CD (and cassette) product resulting was the first North Queensland produced CD.

Pictured are record producer Allan Castleton at his recording desk, and The Gottani Sisters - Pauline & Jenny - who sang harmonies on the album. The girls were on a break from their home in Nashville, USA at the time.

Having been a turf and mango farmer for the whole of the 80's, Greg was inspired to sell the farm and take the album "Stop, Look and Listen" on the road.

After attending Tamworth Country Music Festival 1993 with Whiteline, Greg teamed up with Townsville musicians Steve Paton and Marc Lawson to move south to re-establish his base into New South Wales. This band lasted only a short while, and soon Greg was living in Tamworth, and a flourishing duo, then solo career resulted
.

In 1993, a 3 state tour, taking in South Australia was instrumental in spreading the music of Greg Williams further afield, with "live" performances boosting record sales of "Stop, Look and Listen".

Many of the tracks from the 1993 released album are still being played on radio Australia wide. One track "I Dont Wanna Be a Farmer No More" made it to QANTAS airlines onboard entertainment program soon after release.
