Song Writer

As well as being a Professional Singer/Entertainer and recording artist, Greg Williams is an award-winning song-writer. Tamworth-based, Greg travels Australia extensively performing "live" at Clubs and Festivals and many other venues.

Greg recorded his first album "Stop, Look and Listen!" in his home-town Townsville, North Queensland in 1992 at Alan Castleton's Studio 19. Most of the songs were his own original compositions, plus a couple of "covers". He used the top local players in the project, and was fortunate to have Pauline & Jenny Gottani back from Nashville to sing his harmonies.

Since then he moved south to Tamworth, and as well as recording his second album "It's About Time!" at Lindsay Butler Studio, he is a session singer, singing harmonies on lots of other singers albums coming out of LBS, and other Tamworth recording studios.

Several songs from both of Greg's previous albums have enjoyed wide-spread airplay all over Australia (NFS 35 & 44), and the catchy new single "Red Hot Momma" from the inaugural Tamworth Song-writers Association CD is gaining more Radio attention for this well- rounded experienced entertainer. As well as being a "foot-tapper", this track tells a story, with a twist, of a situation that many of us may have encountered. The "hook" chorus is infectious! You've gotta sing with it. Greg Williams is proud to have one of his own songs chosen to be a part of the first national TSA Song Search Compilation CD recording project.

The most recent singles released on NFS 35 and 44 over the past two years were 'Its About Time!' and "Keep The Dream Alive".

Greg has been a member of Tamworth Songwriter Association (TSA) since early 90's, and is also a member of the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA), Capital Country Music Association (CCMA) & the Australian Country Music Foundation (ACMF).
