Year 12 study the vocational a level in which they will gain a broad understanding of ICT and will be able to study selected areas in more depth. This course will enable students to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of ICT. The course will develop key skills that are highly valued by employers and universities. Students will gain confidence through developing independent learning skills. This course will encourage students to use ICT for the presentation and manipulation of information and will enable students to acquire and apply basic skills and techniques needed by those working in ICT businesses. Students will have the opportunity to apply learning in a practical and realistic way. The course consists of 3 units:
This course will appeal to students who enjoy studying a subject that is relevant to their everyday lives and activities. The course is very practical and there are elements to do yourself - everything is not not just taught to you - you research and find ways of doing things yourselves. This may sound hard however, it means independent learning and universities and employers find this course better as you are prepared for the real world where everything is not just given to you.
