Notes

She graduated from Mahaska High School in 1907 and taught school at Bell School, Washington, Kansas, from 1907 to 1909. She married in 1909 and moved to Wichita, where she and George attended Friends University and were the first married couple to graduate therefrom. She later taught school in Elbing, Kansas, and Canton, Oklahoma, before moving to Wichita. She served for a time as deputy election commissioner for Sedgwick County and was also a court reporter for eight years. She is buried in Wichita Park Cemetery.
