Chapter 1 - No Job
Once there was a man named Sticky Stilt. He had no job. He always looked for a job. One day he found a job at a circus. He practiced and practiced and practiced. They called him Sticky because he always ate candy and got sticky! Once he ate some candy, he was sticky all over. :-)~
Chapter 2 - New Job at the Circus
When he was practicing, he saw some elephants, ducks, high diving people, some trapeze people, horses and ponies, some clowns - that's what Sticky Stilt was. He also saw some ice skaters. When it was circus time, he was first to be on. No one laughed. He tried again. Still no one laughed. He wanted to know why no one laughed. *:o)
Chapter 3 - No One Laughs
The next day, Sticky Stilt was the first one to be on the show. He tried to make them laugh, but they did not laugh. He wanted to know what he did wrong. He tried and tried and tried. He even did a double flip in the air. He kept on trying and trying, but they didn't laugh. He just didn't know what he did wrong. :'-(
Chapter 4 - Still No One Laughs
The next day, he was going to be on third. First to be on were the trapeze people. Second to be on were the horses and ponies. They did a good job. Then it was Sticky Stilt. But still, no one laughed. He did another double flip. Still no one laughed. He just didn't know what he did wrong. He tried and tried and tried to make them laugh, but they did not laugh. :,(
Chapter 5 - Hurt His Arm
The next day, he was second to be on. This time the ice skaters were going to be on first. Then it was Sticky Stilt's turn. He tried to make them laugh, but they didn't. This time, instead of doing a double flip, he jumped up in the air and landed straight on his arm. He was hurt! The doctors came running out. They said he wouldn't be able to be in the next two shows. Sticky Stilt was very unhappy. :-|
Chapter 6 - All Better
The next week he felt better. He wanted to go back to the circus to make the people laugh. He went back to the circus. No one laughed again. What did he do wrong? What? He did another double flip. Still no one laughed. He did a back bend. No one laughed. What did he do wrong? What? He did another back bend and double flip. Still no one laughed. :-C
Chapter 7 - Hurt Again
The next day he was on first. He tried and tried and tried, but no one laughed. He did another back bend. He fell on his back, and he was hurt! They brought out the stretcher. They put Sticky Stilt on the stretcher. They brought him to the hospital. He felt sad that he would maybe never be a circus star and make someone laugh. He tried to get better and go back to the circus. :-[
Chapter 8 - At the Hospital
At the hospital he saw some children sick. They were screaming. That's because they were getting a shot. They were coming to Sticky Stilt's room to give him a shot. He said, "Oh, my gosh, they're coming to my room to give me a shot!" He was about to scream, but he wanted to show the children how brave he was. Then they came to give him a shot, they said they had to give it to him in the back! They gave it to him, and he was brave. :-0
Chapter 9 - They Laugh!
When he came to the circus, he remembered what he forgot to do. He had
forgotten to put on his clown costume! He hurried and put it on. When he got out in the show, everybody laughed. He did a double flip. They even laughed more! He did a back-bend. They laughed more than they did before. Sticky Stilt was very happy. *<|:-)
