There is a difference between wanting to work and having to work! I have to WORK. There is lots of guilt associated with that, and there is also the maintenance of one's own sanity. I hope you will share your thoughts and ideas on being a working mom. E-mail me and I will postly the highlights of great working mom comments! Well we no longer have a nanny, and I have changed my hours at work to try to be able to attend hockey, skating, ballet, etc etc. My employer does not have part time positions, but does allow job sharing, if there is someone to job share with! I am the only person in my department with children......but finally another co-worker is pregnant and she wants to job share when she comes back from maternity leave....so 9 months and counting before my chaos becomes manageable!
Share your moments with us! And share your recipes, each week I would like to share mine and readers quickie recipes for the busy mom. E-mail me your favorite recipe you would like to share.
Work Work Work ...... a women's work is never done so they say! Although men are helping out more and more these days, the bulk of the house work in most families is still so they say women's work.
Our first survey dealt with who did the majority of the housework in your homes. The average respondent age was between 25-34. Most women spent more then 5 hours a week on housework, with most men spending less then 2. All respondents did the majority of house work in their homes. The biggest wish for husbands to do SCRUB THOSE TOILETS!!!! Also for those respondents who had older children, their children spent more time doing housework then the husbands. WOW!
The second survey was on child rearing responsiblities, the average respondent was between 25-34. Most applicants spent more then 15 hours as the primary care givers in their families, and their hubbies were 6-10 hours. Task hubbies liked doing least putting children to bed ( that surprised me!), the task we wished he did more often......make supper!
Our third survey dealt with the interent and what all us moms liked to do those hours on the computer. The average respondent was 35 - 44 and spent 2 - 3 hours a day surfing. Other family members averaged 3 hours a day of usage....gee the computers are used lots!!! Most moms were either surfing or working on homepages, I am surprised that chatting did not rate highly for internet activities. Well all I can say is I am glad your surfing brought you to my page.>
