A Word in Season page 4

Ephesians 3.20 .....is able to do immeasurably more than we can pray or think of....
Don't limit God! I know sometimes I pray about something or someone and I pray for a big change, then I think `No, that's too much' and change it to `Your will be done, Lord'.

The God who created that grain of sand; that wool to make the carpet; the trees to yield the timber to build the house; Lake Taupo; New Zealand; Australia, the southern hemisphere; planet Earth, the moon, Mars, Neptune, Jupiter, the Sun, the millions of stars and other galaxies that are our universe, the atom, the proton, the neutron, the quark. Nothing is too big for Him.

If you pray for something that's according to His will and have faith in His ability to deliver, then His word says it's yours.

But before you pray be sure you put things right with Him. Confess your sins and He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. For God hears the prayers of a righteous man. Your righteousness, your obedience to the Lord in your daily life, affects the outcome of your prayers.

And if you are praying for someone but what your asking for is not in Gods' plan for that person then you are at least still pleading their case before the Lord and that's the importance of intercession, because when that person's not praying then someone else is praying for them and so we're in effect watching each other's back.

God is moving by His Spirit, He is doing great things-Praise God! Let's continue to push in and break through further into the great flow of God's Spirit. It can be scary when we stand on the riverbank and look at the river running swiftly by, especially when it is getting faster and faster. We stand there and think of all the reasons why we shouldn't get in, but we know we are being called by God to get in. So we need to get to that point where we die to self and say " enough is enough, I am getting in and there is no turning back. God, I know that the plans you have for me are for my good, to give me a future and a hope. So Father, let not my will be done, but your will be done.

All that we send into the lives of others comes back into our own.

Imagine yourself as a plant, say a fruit tree. You need water. As a Christian the word of God is your water. Without it you become dry, parched and eventually dead. You also need food. As a tree you need fertilizer, a Christian needs fellowship with God and His continuing presence through the indwelling Holy Spirit. If you continue to get involved with life to the detriment of fellowship time with God; if you continue to ignore the Holy Spirit by not doing good works you are prompted to Do and that's easy to do i.e. when you see someone at church, they're new, they're on their own and you, instead of talking to them, think 'naa! someone else will get there, I feel too stink' or you know someone needs a word of encouragement and you don't give them one, etc you can put out the Spirits fire. Oh, no! There goes your food. You wont bear much fruit, will you. More than that, you're in danger of spiritual death. You might think I've been like that for a while now and I'm still here'. Praise God for His grace and mercy and patience! He doesn't want anyone to perish. But if you keep it up there will come a point at which God says 'Enough!' You're in rebellion, I will contend with you no longer' and he'll give you over to Satan's power to hopefully show you the error of your ways but mans stubbornness often means they don't return.

If you can laugh at it, you can live with it.

Kindness is a warm breeze in a frigid climate, a radiant heat that melts the icebergs of fear, distrust, unhappiness.

Lack of faith says God can't deliver here or I can't overcome this. When you say 'I can't overcome this' you are choosing to ignore or haven't grasped the fact that the power of the Holy Spirit dwells within and will empower you to all God commands as you have the faith to take a step of faith. You haven't the faith to step. If you stay like this the enemy quickly grows apathy in you; fear, doubt, self condemnation.

2 Pet. 1.5 Do your best to improve your faith; add goodness, understanding, self control, patience, devotion to God, concern for others and love. If you keep on growing in this way, it will show that what you know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made your lives useful and meaningful. But if you don't grow you are like someone who is nearsighted or blind, and you have forgotten that your past sins are forgiven.

Things are often black or white but Satan's spread a greyness over things so that you can't see where the white finishes and the black begins unless you can see through the grey. If you still dabble in worldliness then you aren't seeing where light ends and dark begins. You get sight through being washed by the word and through communion with the Holy Spirit. Spiritual optrex.

We have no more right to consume happiness without producing it, than to consume wealth without producing it.
