Logan County: After Lavina married, and settled in the west, she
discovered
there was a need for someone to minister to the sick. She sent to
Philadelphia
for books, from which she learned basic medicine and nursing. She
cared for her
family as well as the settlers around her. She practiced her
nurseing until
very old. Lavina died at the age of 70 years, 2 months, 4 days.
