I have been surfing the web for years, and on December 31, 1997 I decided it was time I created a site of my own. Here is a page of credits to the sites that inspired me, helped me create it, and offered free services that got me going. I like to think of this as my "How did you do it?" page.

Becki's Garden of Graphics - It was after looking through all of Becki's wonderful graphics that I was inspired to create a site of my own here at GeoCities, just so I could use some of them! (Now I use my own graphics, but I still think hers are adorable!)

She answered so many questions, customized graphics for me, and helped explain why you should have height, width & alt tags in your image coding (it helps make your page load faster.) I have used Paint Shop Pro 5.0 to create my graphics. It is a really terrific program - especially for the price! Try out the shareware version, but it will time out at the end of the trial period.
I have been using Netmechanic's GIFBot to reduce the size of all of my GIFs and JPGs on my site to hopefully help make it load faster.
I must tell you about this site. It is simply amazing. I owe most of this free things I use on my site to The Free Site. I was going to do a page full of links for Free things on the internet, but this one already has them all covered! Any type of tool or anything else I could possibly need to design a site I found here. They also have listings for things such as free e-mail services, free website hosting services (like GeoCities), free Digital Postcards, other sites with Free Stuff lists, and even Free Samples! If it is free and it is out there on the web, Marc at the Free Site probably has it listed on his pages! It is organized well so that things are easy to find. Thanks Marc for offering this service for us! (Be sure to sign up for his newsletter!)
