The Search for Happiness All of us search for happiness. More of us would be successful in finding it if we paid a little attention to the signposts along the way. When you recognize any of the following symptoms, you are definately headed in the wrong direction: 1. You find yourself nursing grudges, suspicions or resentment. 2. You spend your days living in the past, not looking to the present and future. 3. You keep fighting things you cannot possibly change. 4. You start to feel sorry for yourself and withdraw from the world. 5. You expect too much of yourself instead of accepting yourself for what you are. How do you fight these things? By finding something bigger and more important then yourself to believe in. By choosing something you can do to help others and putting your heart into it. Direct your thoughts toward others -- egotists are seldom happy. |
