Dre Dog - The New Jim Jones
Reviewed By: MoonChild
- Had "The Shining" score in it. Perfect intro to this album! Real fucken dark
and str8 evil. 10/10.
- Hella dark and just str8 juice mode on this one! "Fuck you Dre Dog, you aint shit!"
Who the fuck would make this the hook? 9/10.
- The only single he ever released! The B-side to it was called "Chocolate Tai." It
was truly one of his top underground classics, a real smooth feel to it, yet still
too hard ta fuck wit, but it was not released on the original release and will be
on the re-release due out soon! 7/10.
- The underground classic basically single handedly started a new sound for the 90’s
in my eyes. Had the score from "Juice" as a beat with bass ta die for. 10/10.
- His first of a tradition of acapellas. Classic shit here. Str8 chewy high here.
9/10.
- Part of the "Enter the Dragon" score with a cat getting tortured!? N/R.
- The fuck track on tha album. Biggie later made millions off the same sample, but
he still couldn’t touch this one though. 8/10.
- My favorite track on this album. At the time I was an atheist so go figure. My
realm here on the beat and whole feel to it. Listen to that hook. Possessed!
10/10.
- Str8 slump. A fun track. Kinda didn’t fit the feel to this album though. 7/10.
- A played out sample barrage here. Hella bass and lyrics are tight. Aight track. The
bass outro was the best part ta me. 7/10.
- The outro part was perfect, no beat just sum lullaby church shit! The dogs and cats
part was some more "Shining" score and dogs and cats fighting amusingly original,
but not a song at all, well that is unless your from frisco then you bump that shit
like it’s an anthem! N/R.
Overall I give this debut album (me being from Frisco and an impressible young sav
at the time) a firm 8.5 out of 10. Deffinetly a must for people that can appreciate
a dark urban album.
