Book Apperences

This just lists every apperence our dear Sybill makes in the Harry Potter books.

Third Book, 6th Chapter: Introduced to Sybill. She teaches Dvination at the top of the North Tower. Sybill explains to the class about the Inner Eye. She moves on to describe the use of tea leaves to predict the future. She claims that next term the class will start palmistry, then fire-omens, finally crystall balls. Then Sybill gives Lavender a prediction. The class starts to use their book Unfogging the Future to read tea leaves. Sybill then gives a prediction about Harry due to what she saw in his tea leaves.

Third Book, 15th Chapter: In Professor Trelawney's class which hold Harry Potter, the class has moved up onto crystal ball lessons. Ron makes a funny comment. Professor Trelawney rustled past. "Would anyone like me to help them interpret the shadowy portents within their Orb?" she murmured over the clinking of her bangles. "I don't need help," Ron whispered. "It's obvious what this means. There's going to be loads of fog tonight." Both Harry and Hermione burst out laughing. Yet again Professor claims to see a dreadful prediction in Harry's crystal. Hermione then claims to have had enough of the class and leaves in a huff.

Third Book, 16th Chapter: Professor Trelawney gives her second real prediction that we know of. She gives it as Harry Potter is leaving after taking his exam.

Third Book, 22nd Chapter: Sybill is mentioned by Harry Potter to Dumbledore as he informs Dumbledore of Trelawney's "real" prediction.

Fourth Book, 13th Chapter: Harry Potter and Ron Weasley make fun of Professor Trelawney and thus end up recieving extra homework on how to read the stars.

Fourth Book, 29th Chapter: Harry Potter falls asleep in Trelawney's class. Trelawney assumes correctly that Potter had a vision although he does not submit to her nagging, thus refusing to tell Sybill what the vision was about.

Fifth Book, 12th Chapter: Harry Potter is instructed to read The Dream Oracle by Inigo Imago for dream interpretation in Professor Trelawney's class.

Fifth Book, 15h Chapter: Trelawney has her lessons inspected by Umbridge. Trelawney continues her lesson on dreams. After the lesson Umbridge pesters Sybill about her history and demands a prediction. Sybill calmly replys that you cannot will the inner eye to come when called. Although due to the pressure Sybill gives a random warning of "she's in grave peril."

Fifth Book, 26th Chapter: Trelawney gets sacked! Of course dear Sybill is frantic. McGonagall tries to calm her down. That woman Umbridge attempted to throw her out of the school, in front of students! Thankfully Dumbledore steps in and claims that Sybill can stay in the school. Flitwick helps to move Trelawney and her luggage back to her room. Trelawney's replacement was Firenze, the centaur which saved Harry Potter in first year.

Fifth Book, 37th Chapter: Dumbledore informs Harry Potter of Sybill's first "real" prediction in a room above Hog's Head Inn.
