Well I haven't always loved the character of Sybill. I had always found her interesting but I didn't start to love her completely until the fifth book. Just because I loved the image of her getting sacked so much. It showed she was human in a way. Anyway I feel that her character is somewhat misunderstood and not given enough credit. Not to mention the fact it seems like JK has found a replacement. Although don't get me wrong I love Luna. She is my second favorite character. To me it seems as if she is like a junior of Sybill. Well not exactly but it seems like she is the new "crazy" one in the series and thus Trelawney has been replaced. As Harry will not be taking Divination in sixth year. I am rather sad from this loss of a great character. She is mentioned so un-often in the books that without Sybill even acting as a teacher for Harry we will be lucky if there is even a slight mention of her. I am hoping that Luna will serve as a good replacement. Although it seems the public enjoys her much more then they did dear Sybill. I wish more people could see why Sybill is such a wonderful character. Perhaps many just think her too silly to deal with. People should look deeper and try to see why Sybill acts the way she does. They should question why does she feel the need to live up to her great-great-grandmother's name. Why is it that she must prove to people that she is worthy of their respect, although her efforts normally have an oppisit effect. I don't know I guess that is why I made this site. So that more people could see why I love Sybill's character so much. My one wish is that before we completely kick Sybill out of the Harry Potter series, that Sybill should give one last real prediction. Just to prove to the world that she is worth looking into. |
