Sybill's History

This section just goes through Sybill's history from when she met the Dumbledore to when she got shacked by Umbridge.

-In 1979 Dumbledore met with Sybill Trelawney, in a room above the bar at Hog's Head Inn, seeing that she was the great-great-granddaughter of a famous seer, he thought it only polite to meet with her, though he had no intention of allowing the subject of Divination to continue being taught as it was not a "suitable" subject. While there Sybill gave one of the two know predictions that were "real" predictions. To read it go to the predictions section of the site. Thus she was given a job.

-In Harry's third year he meets Professor Trelawney for the first time. While in his first class the Professor made two predictions.

-Third year. Ah the often remembered scene where Hermione storms out of Professor Trelawney's class because she is fed up with foolish way of teaching. She thinks this after yet again the Professor has a prediction about Harry.

-Third year. Professor Trelawney is testing her third years due to exams. After Ron has taken his exam Harry Potter is called to enter. When Harry gives a disappointing (to her) prediction about Hagrid's hippogriff, Professor gives the second "real" prediction we know of. Harry is not aware of the prediction made in 1979.

-Harry informs Dumbledore of Trelawney's prediction soon after.

-Fourth year, Harry and Ron make fun of Professor Trelawney and are thus assigned extra homework. Which they "fake" through.

-Fourth year, Harry Potter falls asleep in Trelawney's class. Trelawney is right, for when Harry wakes up she guesses that he had a prediction. Harry does not tell her the contents of his dream so she is left in the dark.

-Fifth year, Professor Trelawney's class is inspected by that women Umbridge. Umbridge procceeds to demand the way the class runs and Trelawney's history. Then has the nerve to inist that Trelawney give a prediction. Sybill states that you cannot will up a prediction (for once) yet being pressured by Umbridge she warns Umbridge to beware for "she's in grave peril" sadly Umbridge is not pleased.

-Fifth year, Trelawney is sacked! Not to mention nearly kicked (literally) out of the school. Thankfully Dumbledore stepped in and told Sybill she could stay at the school, as well as telling Umbridge. Flitwick helps Sybill with her trunk, to be brought back up to her room again. Sadly Sybill has a bit (cough) of a break down and ends up drowning in sherry.

-Fifth year, Dumbledore finds Professor Trelawney a replacement. Firenze the centaur which saved Harry Potter in first year.

-Fifth year, Harry Potter is informed of Sybill's first prediction.
