If you disagree or you wanna give props to other DJs and beatmakers holla back and I'll post them. One.
A break is the part of a song after the interlude. This is what DJs use to mix, loop, and scratch to make a track. Disco was used a lot because it had mad breaks. Back in the day, NYC crews had 2 different styles of creating tracks: South Bronx underground heads used 2 turntables and a microphone and sometimes a human beatbox would get in on the action. The other style was live musicians playing disco and funk instruments and it focused on the MC's rap skills. The first big rap joint that used this style was the hip hop classic "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugarhill Gang. In 1979 and 1980 breaks were being mixed with beats like in Grandmasterflash's "Adventures on the Wheels of Steel".
