Back in the day, it was LL and Kool Moe Dee and KRS-1 and MC Shan. And not too long ago it was LL and Canibus and the Lox and Bad Boy. It seems that it wouldn't be hip hop without the beef.

Who hasn't heard that song by Nas, "Stillmatic", where he disses Jay: "Nas designed ya blueprint/Who are you kiddin?/Is he the H-to-the-izz-O-M-to-the-izz-O/Fa shizzzle, you phony/The rappin version of Sisqo". Damn, the rap version of Sisqo?! Well of course, Jay came back with "The Takeover", "Yeah I sampled your voice, you was using it wrong/You made it a hot line, I made it a hot song/You n****s gonna learn to respect the King/Don't be the next contestant on that summer jam screen".

For those who don't know, Jay and Prodigy had some beef and Jay displayed a picture of the young Prodigy wearing a dance outfit on a big screen at New York's Hot 97 Summer Jam. That's beef.
