TOP STORY: Monarchy Deposed by Europa, Parliament Names Bonaparte Consul!
Venice - Following the contraversial Prometheus City Accords, Europa rebels
marched into Venice following years and years of anarchy. The chaos ensued
after news of the Prometheus City Accords, which ended the Great War, hit
home. Citizens in every metropolis took to the streets looting and
pillaging. Some began to protect historic edifices such as the great statue
of Carlo Medici in Venice and the Gret Oracle in Bosporus. When King Lorenzo
II D'Medici returned from Prometheus City he was promptly executed by an
angry mob and carted from Lisboa all the way to Bosporus where a garrison of
royal troops finally ended the demonic procession. Soon thereafter Europa
rebels dispatched from Scandinavia marched south from Germany into Venice and
captured the royal palace. They sent troops out from Paris to Orenburg in
order to quell the rioting mobs. Eventually the Europa Senate, which was
meeting in the Scandinavian city of Oslo moved into the palace in Venice
where they set up the seat of government and officially named the Adriatic
League a Republic. Napoleon Bonaparte, who was a corporal in Khazakstan
accepted the nomination of Consul. Yesterday in Versailles Palace outside of
Paris the Royalty, represented by Vittorio Emanuele, signed away their claim
to the Adriatic throne to the Adriatic Parliament. "This ushers in a new
Adriatic League, we must work hard to reconstruct a proper reputation, the
monarchy ruined us with other nations and we understand their concern, we
must let them know that we have indeed changed" said Consul Bonaparte.

Prometheus City Accords Signed in New China!
Prometheus City, New China - Leaders from around the world convened in
Prometheus City to discuss the Great War in Eurasia, which had reached a
fevered pitch after the Israelites joined the side of the Pacific Pact
against the Adriatic League. "The situation was tense" said Consul
Bonaparte, who was attending as the commander of Asian forces "[Lorenzo II]
did not conform himself very well, he was often agitated and spoke out of
turn, however [Shareef Ingania XI] did a good job as chairman, he handled the
meetings very well." Under the terms of the Accords the Adriatic League
officially ceded Cuba, Yucatan and Panama to the Australians. A
Demilitarized Zone was also established along the Mongolian-Adriatic border.
According to a recent poll 78% of all Adriatic citizens hold the Accords in
contempt, 12% think they were a good thing and the remaining 10% having no
opinion either way.
Mongolian Garrison Currently Offending DMZ.
Milan, Australian Territory - Just months following the newly signed
Prometheus City Accords, word from Orsoni holds that a Mongolian Garrison is
currently in violation of the DMZ. "We aren't sure, we are unable to
officially police the area, however we have been told that the Zulu shall
patrol to make sure no units are offending the DMZ" said Consul Bonaparte.
Popular belief says that the issue is a mere miscommunication, and most
likely if the unit is still there it was to destroy a fortress created by the
Adriatic League prior to the war. At this time there is nothing official,
however MP Van Oranj (D - NT) said in a meeting with the press "This is an
unconfirmed report, plain and simple, we hold no ill feelings towards
Mongolia. This is most likely a miscommunication."
Axis Alliance Terms Israel "Rogue" State.
Timbuktu, Mali - Axis officials announced that Israel shall "join the status
of Scandinavia as a rogue state" following their recent betrayal of the
Adriatic League and their Mediterranean Pact that had been in effect for more
than one thousand years. "SunTzu is a mercenary. He changes his whims at the
drop of a hat, or a coin more appropriately. We will continue to trade wuth
Israel, but any more than that, we cannot condone. Israel cannot be trusted,
and will not be trusted by the Zulu, or any member of the Axis for that
matter" said Zulu public relations official Aziz Hamin. Consul Bonaparte's
response to the situation was "Obviously Israel made a hard decision, at this
point in time the Adriatic Republic holds no ill feelings, they are not very
well liked by our population but we have yet to hold official audience with
them at this time, we look forward to our meeting if one shall arise."
Adriatic Officials Meet Lief Ericksson in Oslo.
Oslo, Scandinavia - Adriatic Foreign Minister Antonin Rossi met with
Scandinavian Warlord Leif Ericksson in Oslo to discuss the annexation of
Scandinavia into the Adriatic League. "Centuries ago this territory was
under Adriatic control, clearly against their will and under the foot of the
crown, now we have a new system where Scandinavia would proft greatly" said
Consul Bonaparte. At this point in time the goings-ons of the meetings have
been left uknown to the public, however a press release is said to be issued
within the comming days. Rumors of monetary funds towards Scandinavian
public works are circling around Venice at this time.

P.R. - 1 and 2 Pass in Parliament.
Venice - Two important peices of legislation have passed Parliament. S.R. -
1 which ushers Mexico, Nuova Italia and Medici as official Adriatic Provinces
was passed unanimously by the 126 member Parliament. "Most people don't
understand what Provincial status entails" said MP Nicolo Machiavelli (D -
IT) "This now means that [these terriories] are officially part of the
nation, they can no longer be barted away pending an act of Parliament, to
which their representatives will be members." The second resolution, S.R. -
2, gave Parliament the opportunity for a vote of no confidence as well as
gave the Consul the line item veto, which allows him to remove any wording of
any legislation that passes Parliament.
10% More Taxes Allocated Towards Research.
Venice - 10% of the Federal budget has been allocated towards scientific
research, said Otto Helzig (E - GR); "This is a major change, we must excel
in scientific research above all, the military must wait at this point in
time. There are two strong alliances out there who will surpass us in
research if we do not apply ourselves to research." The budget recieved
opposition from the Hawk party, which felt that more money should be issued
towards revamping the Adriatic Military, which took a heavy toll during the
Great War, however the unified Dove and Europa parties were sufficient to get
the change passed.

Finally the Monarchy is no more. Europa rebels gloriously marched into
Venice and replaced the ornate royal gold of the palace into the House of
Parliament. The Europa cause has won over, or has it? The Dove and Hawk
parties, which are headed by former Europa leadership has opted for less
freedom in exchange for control. Only land owning males aged 20 may vote,
the Consul is voted by the Parliament and all military is controlled by the
Federal government. This is quite a strong government, and with the supposed
backing of "the people" it is possibly more dominating than the former
Monarchy, which was still in the hands of local dukes who were in contact
with their people more than these men. Some sail from as far as Medici and
Nuova Italia to represent their people, months at a time on the ocean. How
can you effectively represent your constituency from such distances? There
is no bill of rights, no Province is permitted to exit the League, no
Province may establish is own code of laws. We have replaced the rule of one
with the rule of many, it is nearly the same. The Europa party is fighting
for European rights, we no longer believe that the term "Adriatic" suffices
our people. If you wish to hear more information about the Europa Party
please speak with your Province's local representative, most have them. If
yours does not there should be a member of the Europa Party with an office
near the local statehouse. Lend your support, and viva la Europa!
