160 AD
As war breaks between two great powers, Shakeem and the Zulu Nation quietly regain the #1 step on the podium of power.

Zulu Nation return to the pinnacle....
The massive parties are ending in the Zulu Nation and as a result, Shakeem's power base has grown in leaps and bounds. City size has grown from an average of size "3" cities, to a healthy size "5". Shakeem attributes this to their Republican government. And although the Republic has brought great power to the Zulus, there are rumors that Shakeem will be reverting back to his old system of Monarchy. Says Shakeem:

"A war has broken out between two world powers and the Republicans are to say the least, not at all concerned with my military. General Keti reports that in an effort to make cities more productive, some cities have disbanded military units! And this is un-acceptable! With so many things up in the air, we cannot be too careful....."

And so, within the next century or two, we expect to see Shakeem's crown dusted off.........

Adriatic League shakes things up in the new world
Those Europeans are a most bold bunch. Very ambitious. But in our opinion, not unfair. They have as much right as anyone to seek lands in the new world and have not crossed any lines as far as we can see. When Leopold left Africa, our two nations had not come to terms on anything of any relevance, but we left our meetings with a definite impression of the AL. They strive for honor and respect and will not bow to any men, even the great Shakeem. Their move in the new world, which flies in the face of almost every other nation on the globe, shows the sack that the Europeans must have. Is it a wise move? Only time will tell, but if there is one thing that the Zulu people respect, it is bravery.

Zulu explorer treks through Mongolia...plans Eastern course....
Zulu explorer, Rashi Kali, touched down in India several years ago. His goal is to chart Asian lands and speak with the Mongol Khan. The mapping has began, but despite several attempts to converse with the Mongol's leader, no progress has been made. It seems their leader is rather anti-social. Rashi will continue to map central Asia in the coming years, and then head directly east to seek out the elusive Chinese empire. Upon a meeting with their leader, we will have sucessfully met with all nations in the world. As soon as this goal has been met, we can sit down and began planning out world wide trading routes. Our trade advisor is salivating at the idea....

Infastructure in southern Africa almost completed....
With the exception of a few, all cities in the African Zulu Nation have been linked by roads. Travel between cities has become a simple undertaking, and local trade is beginning to take off. Shakeem will be talking with the Mali in the near future to begin discussing the building of a road that covers the gap between the two great nations. Our second caravan is due to arrive in the land of the Mali, but the journey has been long and strenuous due to the lack of roads in central Africa.
