Experience the primary rainforest in its pristine form. One of the only two rainforests remaining in the world that is found within a city (the other one is in Rio de Janeiro). The number of plant species growing in the reserve is more than that in the whole of North America. Well-marked trails of varying difficulties in the reserve let you discover the jungle and its habitants. Come and be enchanted by the rich and diverse ecological systems in the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.

• Hop onto the TIBS Bus 961 at the bus-stop opposite Marsiling MRT.
• Alight at Upper Bukit Timah Road, opposite Bukit Timah Shopping centre.
• Follow the brown signboard that says "Bukit Timah Nature Reserve". The reserve is about 10 mins walk away.

Choose a walking trail that is suitable for you. Approximate walking time can vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours(return) with varying level of difficulties. For a relax walk up to the hilltop, take the main road. Spend half a day or the whole day just wandering through the reserve ...

Soaked in the luxuriant jungle but beware of the beautiful yet deadly blue coral snake or try spotting the cicadas (the little insect that make a shrieking sound) and the butterflies too.

Climb the highest hill in Singapore at 163.63 metres high.Walk or cycle the 6 km cycling trail (bring your own mountain bikes).

For the energetic ones, take the long trail (10 km, approximate walking time 5 - 7 hrs) that start from the Bukit Timah Nature reserve and end at the Central Catchment Nature Reserve. Check out the boardwalk in the Catchment or along the MacRitchie reservoir. Do not miss the messy lianas, spiky rattan, ferns, bamboo tree, palm, strangler fig, chewing gum tree (extract from the plant was once used for making chewing gum) , or the "Cheng Tng" tree (the fruits of this tree are used for the popular local dessert "Cheng Tng").

Climb up the recently opened tower to have a bird-eye's view or walk among the trees at the treetop walk.
