Grizabella is the Glamour cat. All we know for sure from the musical is that for some reason she left the Jellicle tribe to see the land of the humans. Apparently, it was too much for her and she fell into activities such as prostitution. At the Jellicle Ball she returned only to find herself an outcast from the others, who felt perhaps betrayed at her leaving them. Many of the male kittens pull pranks on her and the adult toms and queens make sure to keep the kittens away. Out of the adults, only Demeter and Old Deuteronomy. Munkustrap always keeps a wary eye on her as she moves through the Junk Yard, and Bombalurina and Rum Tum Tugger regard her with disgust. Eventually two of the kittens, Sillabub and Victoria, come to understand Grizabella and help her to become accepted back into the tribe. She is the one chosen to accend to the Heaviside Layer.
