COMMENT:
Its probably obvious what the drawing represents.
Its my way of graphically representing the idea of inner beauty. I wanted to
show that even with the "inhuman" features, the person still maintains physical
beauty as charecterized by his right side. Not to say that his left side(the creature
side) is not beautiful, I think it is, in its own way. Actually I don't believe
that there is anything in existance that is ugly. Even the word ugly should not have a
meaning. There are only varying
degrees of beauty but nothing less. Simply put, I think that the existence of life is just
incredible and wonderous. I like to think of all living things as falling under the
classification of life and therefore, on a higher scale we are all unified.
The character is supposed to be looking at the flowering
plant with a sense of wonder, curiosity and appreciation of its beauty. Also, the flowering plants' sharp outer thorns/coverings is supposed to create an initial
association of danger with the plant which is ofcourse not dangerous at all. And the same
idea goes for the character.
