Each directory's requirements are different. It could take several hours to register one directory and to modify the content of your site. Fortunately, there are a variety of services that charge you some fee to submit your site to the directories with the ways they require. Some registration services offer additional services beyond registration, which include maintaining your site or checking its position periodically, sending printed reports of your site's status, allowing a number of updates, or registering more than one URL.

If you have the time, however, learn to do this job yourself, because it may prove to be a useful skill. Furthermore, directories and not as difficult as they used to be. The problem is, even if you choose the directories that the submission service will submit your site to, you cannot be guaranteed of selection by the main directories. No directory will accept a site under construction. So do not submit your site unless you finish all the pages and make sure there is no dead link inside.

Category Chosen
The Category you pick is by far the most important element to improve your positions in the directory. The best way to find the right category is to search for your most important search terms, see which category comes up first in the search results, and suggest your site there. It is impossible to suggest a site in a general category. You must follow the path all the way down to the appropriate site list to find the Submit a Site link.

Caption or Description
Writing a clear description about your site, and using lots of variations of your most important keywords is an absolute must. The description should be fit your site's content and not too broad.
