Build on the Ending
An entertaining story should have unity – the conflict
should create on the audience anticipation of the outcome and its body must
lead to the outcome.
Thus a story’s
beginning must establish the conflict as soon as possible in order to have a
grip on the audience, while a creative body will engage the audience in the
resolution of the conflict, so that the outcome will be welcomed if not an
expected one.
An outcome will be
crystal clear for the audience when it’s anticipated, well established and
clear. A good beginning and a masterful execution of the body make a clear
and established ending. Thus at the very beginning of the story, you should
already build on the ending. Always have the end in mind. Every phase and
every word of the story should lay the foundation for a crystal end.
