Back in Vancouver

I'm sorry that I haven't been updating this page for over 2 weeks. I returned to Vancouver on June 23 and I was instantly busy. I had a very important dinner to attend in the evening and things have basically stayed busy since then.

For those of you who know me, I am continuing my pratice work. I'm working at a the Children's Hospital now. It's been 2 weeks there and it has been non-stop learning. It's been a very good pace too. I'm really enjoying myself there.

Canada Day was on July 1st and we had a long weekend. In other words, I had Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off from work. It was a busy weekend to say the least. Friday night, I went skating and met up with my friends many of whom I had not seen since I had left for Edmonton. Saturday was busy day helping a friend who had just arrived in Canada. I was helping to get some things organized back at their home. That night, I went to Granville Island with my friends. This place is a great tourist attraction. It is full of art shops, a kids' market, a produce market, and many good restaurants. Plus, it's all along the waterfront so you can smell all that wonderful seaside air. Sunday was equally busy with Sunday meetings and lunch. Monday morning, I went to the doctor's and biked around buying some things.

Just today, I spent time fixing my bicycle. My brother is pretty knowledgeable in fixing and maintaining bikes, so I went to his place to work on my bike. I had bought a few things to add and change to my bicycle. Amazingly, fixing and maintaining isn't really hard. I'm glad my brother helped me out. It's so much easier to learn from someone than to read about it in a book. Now I feel much more confident about fixing my bike by myself. It's important right now because I will have to bike to work sometimes. Unfortunately, all the public buses in Vancouver are not running. There's a strike. It's a most terrible situation for people who depend on the buses. I'm just happy that I can still get around.

Also, I wanted to scan more pictures for all of you to see, but unfortunately, my scanner isn't working. I'm busy trying to fix it with software, but I'm not sure if it will work. So please hope that my scanner will work. It will be a huge shame if it stops working on me.

Okay, this wasn't a very formal article like the last few, but I thought I better write something before you all get restless. So take care and all have a good and safe summer.
