Back to School - Teaching --June 13, 2002 Well, guess what? I've been too busy to update my webpage again. It's been well over 2 months since I've done anything related to the page. One of the reasons is because I'm working again. I'm teaching at one of the dozens of ESL colleges in Vancouver. China 2002 - Beijing --June 13, 2002 After two years of grad school, I was finally graduating. I handed in my paper and all the work was done. I was free. I knew what I wanted to do now. The airplane were in my hands within two weeks and I flew into Beijing on May 2nd at the peak of the May 1st Holiday. It was an unreal feeling coming off the plane. It was hard to believe that I was back in China after two years. But there I was in person in Beijing. Hockey Fever --April 24, 2002 Every spring in Canada, a strange illness takes a hold of the country. From St. John's, Newfoundland to Victoria, B.C.; from Toronto, Ontario to Iqualit in the Nunavut Territory. This illness is called "Hockey Fever." ![]() Multicultural Society --March 22, 2002 Canada is a country built upon immigration. The earliest immigrants came from the British Isles. A whole range of English, Scottish, and Irish settlers flocked to Canada. Through the early 20th Century, other groups started coming to Canada. These included Germans, Italians, and Ukranians. Happy New Year! ... again? Well, it's Spring Festival and the Chinese New Year. This year, it was on February 12th and was very close to Valentine's Day this year. This year was a little different from other New Year's that I have had.
