She was cared for in her old age by her son Bob and his wife Winn, who lived with her after their marriage.

Richard gained his Certificate of Competency as "skipper of a vessel employed in fishing only" after an examination held in Brixham on 8 Jan 1884, at which time he was living at Beach Square. He was the owner of Camellia (1902-1917) and its skippers from 1889 to 1893. Before his marriage, he was living at Furzes Alley, Brixham, with his parents.

Martha was born during one her father's several moves to Hull. She finally returned to Brixham with her parents in about 1865, and at the age of 19 was a domestic servant working for William Cove (baker and confectioner) at 28 Fore Street. In 1888, she was a witness at the marriage of her brother Edmund (the other witness being her future husband) and in 1891 was recorded as a housekeeper in her parents' home in Furzes Alley. A gravestone in Brixham churchyard commemorates her, her husband and their daughter Hettie.

Martha married Samuel (1) HOLLAND, son of Brixham mariner William HOLLAND and Mary Ann née BEALE, on 4 Jul 1891 in Brixham. Samuel was born on 30 Jul 1861 and died on 9 May 1944 in Brixham.
Samuel was another Brixham fisherman. At the time of the 1881 census, Sam was an A B Seaman on the vessel Presto moored in Madron Harbour, Penzance. (His future father-in-law and three future brothers-in-law were also in the crew.) In 1891, he was recorded as a trawler owner living with his mother at 1 Hollands Court, and in 1901 he was a fishing smack owner. In fact, he was owner and skipper of Guess (1889-1920) and owner of Guess Again (1916-1922) until he sold it to his brother-in-law Arthur. Samuel's address while he was owner of Guess was Greens Court, Higher St. then 83 New Road, and his address as owner of Guess Again was 3 New Road.
Oral history has it that Sam used to annoy harbourmasters when they asked him the name of his boat by replying "Guess!". After they had got used to that little joke, they had to put up with the answer "Guess again!".

Edmund was another Brixham fisherman. In the 1881 census, he was recorded as a deck boy on the Presto moored in Madron Harbour, Penzance. (His father and his brothers Richard and James were also in the crew.) Later, he skippered Geina (1892-1918), Camellia (1895-1920) and Arghiro (1901-1924). He also owned Camellia for 4 months in 1917, having bought it from his brother Richard.
In 1891 Edmund was living at 12 St. Peters Hill and was still also living in Brixham in 1901. He owned 53 Berry Head Road and lived there from at least 1915 until he died.
Edmund married (1) Eliza Lateman NICHOLAS, daughter of a shipwright, on 5 Aug 1888 in Newlyn by Penzance, Cornwall. Eliza was born in 1865 in Penzance and christened there on 1 Apr 1865. She died in 1915 or 1916.

When Edmund died in 1939, Dorothea's daughter Margaret and her husband moved in with her at 53 Berry Head Road. Margaret died in the early 1940s and the house was inherited by her husband when Dorothea died in 1943.

Joseph married Henrietta HAYDEN on 13 Dec 1891. Henrietta was born in 1865 in Brixham, a daughter of fisherman George HAYDEN and his wife Susan née COBBLEY.

Jack sailed in Guess in 1892; was part owner of the Speranza 1887-1917 and its skipper 1903-1912; was the owner of Kathleen Winnie 1916-1925 and one of its skippers 1916-1939; and was the owner of Guess Again 1922-1934 and one of its skippers 1916-1934. He sold Speranza to his wife in 1917 and bought Guess Again from his brother-in-law Samuel Holland in 1922.

He was called back into active service when World War I broke out and served as Chief Petty Officer until 11 Sep 1919.
