The Tree of Life is the staff's heartfelt expression honoring and thanking everyone for making a tough job easier and helping us save lives. Working together we have make a difference.

The shelter receives donations from across the state of Kansas and out of state, which arrive throughout the year. The skeleton of the tree consists of two-by-fours covered with chicken wire. The bark is molded paper mache. The trees branches are real branches supported with shelving brackets and molded to the trunk with paper mache. Beautiful pink blossoms of wisteria hang from the branches depicting renewed life and hope of a bright future for man and animal alike.

Angel Animals dangle and sway from it’s outreaching branches, sporting the names of individuals, businesses, 4-H groups, veterinarians, church groups, and students from the local schools that have shown their compassion for animals and their support of the Shelter/Controls goals and accomplishments.

Halos above the Angel Animals heads represent the amount of each donation. One Halo represents donations up to $100.00. Two Halos represent donations up to $500.00 and three Halos represent donations above $500.00. Many individuals, organizations, and groups have several ornaments sporting their name.
