CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT |
Expectations of Students |
A critical part of reform mathematics is collaborative work. Therefore all students must be willing to work in groups to explore situations, communicate ideas, and explain concepts. In order for group learning to be effective, students must be willing to follow the rules for respect, follow all established routines, and contribute to the group environment. |

One of the major goals of reform mathematics is to help students become active learners and take an active role in their own education. This requires students to develop many skills including learning how to make individual contributions in a group setting, preparing for tasks ahead of time, and reflecting on learning through journals and portfolios. |
