In a rationalisation move, second franchises were dropped so bye-bye Barracudas, Sting Rays and Blues. We also lost the Marauders and David Morris’s long-running Chichester Golden Seals, but were left with a solid 9 team loop.

A close run battle in both divisions. Only one team in the Saxon managed to crack .500, so three of the playoff spots go to Viking Division. D.C. missed out thanks to a 5-1 loss at home to the River Rats. The Rats took three out of five games at D.C. - they had only one other road win all season.

The playoffs pit the Meteors, winning their third straight division title, against the defending champion Adel Puffins. Ipswich tangle with cross town rivals Parkside in the other match-up.
