Munkey Squad
Author: Tenchi
Artist: Tenchi |
The amazing, wacky, incredible and sometimes quite disgusting adventures of Monkey Spit Boy, Monkey Spit Lad, and a host of others! Thrill as they battle the evils of Canada! |
Story: 5-
Art: 5
Music & SFX: 6
Fancy stuff: 5 |
Cutely drawn, nice special effects, good voice acting and Tenchi even took the trouble to edit some music to suit the story better. Only setback; humor is pure American type (disgusting jokes, Canadian jokes and F-word all over the place). I don't mind, though. |

Mystery Kami Theater 2000

Joel, Crow and Tom (of Mystery Science Theatre 3000 fame) watch bad Kamishibai stories! Sadly, removed by author's request from OW. |

Mystery Moonies Shibai
Author: Meagen
Artist: Meagen (and the original Kami authors)

Without Mike/Joel and the Bots churning out MSTs of atrocious Kamis, who will the world turn too? If you guessed "Meagan's fanfic characters," you guessed right! |

I'm a MST3K addict, so I was quite happy to see someone continue to MST bad Kamis. Even nicer was to see original characters used (meaning that the author could easily create the host segments!). Best of all-it's being written by Meagen, who's got one of the sharpest wits in the Kami community and she's not afraid to turn it loose!
Generally, the riffs are up to par with the action and beautifully expose the gaping plot holes and other logical and literary fallacies plaguing these stories. Sheesh, what AM I supposed to say, it's a MSTING! However, the host segments are very clever, what with Meagan appearing as the Mad and the entire AYB segment in the beginning of MST 3. Since the cast is new, the little segments allow us to get to know the characters a bit better (which is why the host segments exist on MST3K as well!)
However, I will add that sometimes it can be difficult to read the riffs because they don't stand out very well from the original Kami text, due to a lack of carrots for the initial text in some scenes. Also, when the curtain rose in Episode 3, the cast disappeared in one frame of the animation (along with the theater!). However, I would love to see more of this series! |

Mythology
Author: Frecklegirl
Artist: Various |
Greek and Roman mythology told with pictures, music and descriptions. |
Story: 5-
Art: *
Music & SFX: 4
Fancy stuff: 4+ |
An interesting guide to Greek and Roman mythology. Quite accurate as far as I can tell (I used to have a keen interest in this subject). Well chosen and clearly labelled pictures. The "Gods and Godesses" part, although it's clearly stated as just an introduction to the myths themselves, seems to be rather loosely strung together. It isn't bad enough to need a re-write of this entire section, but reading about Castor and Pollux, Nymphs, Winds, Fates and Gorgons all in one chapter seems rather confusing and makes it harder to remember them all. |

Well this Kami isn't so much a story as infomation on the Greco-roman gods and godess, but I like the way it was writen (I know I learned something) plus I like that the music chaged for each god/godess. |
