Epic of the Lumberjack
Author: Matthew Falls
Artist: Various sources |
Scott, a young man who was raised by maple trees in Canada, is given the mission to become the Holy Lumberjack and defeat a great evil facing the forest. |

I wonder where the author's deep rooted hatred of Keebler Elves came from, seeing how one of them takes quite a beating, and the other one has several insults hurled at him. |

Anyway, the jokes are funny just because of their randomness, and I love the homage to Monty Python and the Holy
Grail halfway through the story, though I would have preffered some extra directions for that segment instead of restarting everytime you make the wrong choice. The graphics are all taken from odd sources, mostly food products, and of course, the star is the Brawny paper towel man. The animation of these cut graphics also has a Monty Python feel. For example,
when Scott travels, you simply see his head moving across the picture. This Kami is loads of fun, and another exampe of how to effectively use edited pictures to tell a good story. |

This story beats around the bush, never coming out & saying "he's gay". It's a very mixed up story that doesn't go too far. I think it's very
weird, and this Kami is NOT for children! The artwork is nice, but that's all. My opinion is that this is a bad story. I give it 2 big thumbs down!

You know you're in for some laughs when you've got a Kamishibai starring the infamous Mad Monk Rasputin, a monkey, and features a Kung-Fu Buddha. And fortunatly, Root manages to deliver. |

The artwork is hilarious and well done, making it look like a warped comic with some funny and very well executed animation to go along with it. The story keeps delivering warped humor and original jokes, and the sounds are unique and lend to the absurd humor of the story and are usually integrated into the artwork. They were so well-integrated that I counted them as extras. Of course, there's a bit of off-color humor in this one, but if you can handle some jokes like that, you're going to love this story. I couldn't stop laughing the first time and I re-read this one often. A lesson in how to write insane comedy and make it funny. |

James Bond 007: Escape from Russia
Author: Solitary arts
Artist: Solitary arts |
James Bond has been captured. Help him get out. Watch him drive away. |
Story: 3
Art: 4-
Music & SFX: 4
Fancy stuff: 4+ |
Too short. Definitely. Kill one guard, get out of room, end. Where's Russia in all that, anyway? Animations have more frames than needed, and the art isn't very good. Not really worth your time. |
