Mary Elizabeth Eden

September 6, 1922 - January 4, 2002

Born September 6, 1922, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma Mary was the daughter of George Merkley and Monnie Mae Lusk.  Following the death of Mary’s mother, her grandmother Maggie Lusk, raised her.   Maggie instilled the principles of life that not only influenced Mary, but also the lives of those she touched.  Mary graduated from Sapulpa High School and married Dale Eden.  Mary and Dale have two children Judy James and Mike Eden, four grandchildren Jennifer James, Joyce Myers, Maggie Eden and Jeff Eden and one great-granddaughter Morgan Elizabeth Myers.  Mary’s sister,  Margaret Apgar has five children, Joyce, Ron, Jean, Meg and Don.  Mary’s special fried is Jerry Adams.

The most important objective of Mary’s life was to raise a good family and provide for their needs.  She accomplished her objective.

Friends were necessary for Mary.  Neighbors became family while the people in her daily life became friends.  The grocery checker, the owners and waitresses of restaurants and the beautician, all played important roles.

The grandchildren and great-granddaughter quote Mary,

“You are special to me.  I think about you everyday and wonder what you are doing.”

Mary enjoyed good books, loved feeding and watching the birds, had beautiful flowers in her garden and dressed with the best of taste.

Mary was predictable.  At 6:30 she became the best contestant for “The Wheel of Fortune”.  At meal time, she was the best cook.  When mending, she was the best seamstress.

Mary crocheted beautiful aphgans and shared them with family and friends.

Mary’s pain and suffering was tremendous as she traveled through the valley of the shadow of death, but life became easier as she neared the end of the valley.

Mary is a classy lady.
