The SS Brotherhood of the Bell: NASA's Nazis, JFK, and MAJIC-12, by Joseph P. Farrell, presents a case for WWII Nazi Germany being the actual source for all of that "alien" technology touted by Col. Philip Corso in his book, The Day After Roswell. It also points to a much larger role for nazis and their sympathizers in post-WWII history. I have the book and I found it usefull and interesting. The average customer rating is four stars out of five. Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies, by Jared Diamond, argues that the current winners in the drama of world conquest got to the top as an accident of geography and circumstance. The author got a Pulitzer prize for this book and a lot of other prizes, but the book is not without controversy or detractors. The average customer rating is four stars out of five. Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed, by Jared M. Diamond, continues arguments begun in Guns, Germs and Steel, to outline how societies can rise on particular ecological platforms and then collapse when they blunder beyond the ecological limits of those platforms. Diamond points to historical examples to support his arguments. This book is a new release, so there are no customer rankings for this book as yet. A History of Money and Banking in the United States: The Colonial Era to World War II, by Murray N. Rothbard is a paperback book of 510 pages. The average customer rating is five stars. Part of an editorial description states the following,"In what is sure to become the standard account, Rothbard traces inflations, banking panics, and money meltdowns from the Colonial Period through the mid-20th century to show how government's systematic war on sound money is the hidden force behind nearly all major economic calamities in American history." A People's History of the United States: 1492 to Present, by Howard Zinn, contrasts the establishment version of American history with documented facts. One reader review states the following about the book, "I was skeptical when I began this book, but Zinn's extensive research and copious amount of primary source material convinced me that he - like his book - belongs in the highest tier of American literature that every good citizen ought to read. Not only is his fresh account of American history far more convincing than the chest-beating pro-American tales of adventure and prosperity that fill most orthodox historical approaches, but his clear, smooth and engrossing narrative make it a fun and intriguing read." The Real Lincoln : A New Look at Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War by Thomas DiLorenzo, exposes a significant portion of the political origins of the Civil War. Given the exalted myth that has arisen around the legacy of Lincoln's actions this book is inherently controversial for the average student of American history. This books sets an interesting stage for the unfoldment of the current world imperical ambitions of America's leadership. The average customer rating is three and a half stars.
