THE PARISH OF ST. JAMES THE GREAT
"Eureka!"
by mike velasco

The first thing in line is to find a perfect church and reception venue. We wanted something not very common and not very far. If within Manila, the church should be airconditioned and the reception venue should serve good food.

In Muntinlupa City, we found a very solemn church. It is The Parish of St. James the Great. I once saw it last Holy Week, while watching Seven Last Words on television. I got struck when I saw its altar and forgot all other churches in mind.

April 25, 2004, we checked out the church. It is built inside Ayala Alabang Village. The Parish of St. James the Great can occupy a capacity of 1000 guests but ours will only occupy a small portion of it. At least, it has a long aisle for the Bridal March.

The office is located at the ground level where we had our inquires and met Ms. Minda. The day must fall on a Saturday because we know our venue is quite far and inconvenient for our guests but believe me, it is one of the most unique and romantic weddings you will ever attend to.

May 12, 2004, my parents and I booked for a date. We ended up with April 2, 2005, Saturday, 3:00 in the afternoon. It is a long way to go but I am glad we have found a definite date and we have got almost a year to prepare.

This special day will be worth everyones' time and presence.
