Welcome Oilers Fans!

Well, the Oilers are out of the playoffs, and that means that I stop caring about the playoffs. Sure, I'm curious to see who'll win the Cup, but if it ain't the Oil, I personally don't care who wins it (So long as it ain't Dallas). This off-season will plague my mind with plenty of "what-ifs", the biggest one being that if the Oilers had blown their last game of the season against the Flames, we would have drawn the Blues. You probably know now that the Blues were just upset by the Sharks. If we had played the Blues, we might just be the ones who'd be advancing to the 2nd round playing Dallas or Detroit. Oh well, I certainly hope we play better next season. Don't worry, the Oilers will once again be my pick to win it in 2001. GO OILERS GO!! (sniff)

WHAT A WIN!!! I was at this game, and this was one to remember! We have the best fans in the whole wide world!!! What a game! Dougie Weight has the hat-trick to lead the Oilers past the Stars! I tell you, I've never been to a game that exciting! I've been to every Oilers playoff home game (except Game 3 vs. Col 1997, and Game 6 vs. Col 1998), and I hadn't seen the Oilers win a home game since the Game 3,Capilano Comback vs. Dallas in 1997. I was beginning to think that my being there was jinxing the Oilers! Check my site later for pictures of me at the game!!

Well, looky, looky, we drew Dallas again... Yeesh! Thanks to a platry perfromance by San Jose against the Canucks, we get the fun job of playing Dallas again for the fourth straight year. I shouldn't complain... Everybody in Edmonton hates Dallas, and the games are always close and exciting. Keep your eye on me for games 3 and 4. I'm always on the TV, going wild!

For a while there, I thought the Oilers wouls never win a game. I was at the Colorado game that we lost 4-2. The refs robbed us of 2 points, and our seat on the Northwest Division throne. Either way, we thumped the Thrashers 3-0 tonight, and Ryan Smyth had a natural hat-trick! Go Oilers Go!

The Oilers rebounded beautifully after a couple of tough weekend losses to the Calgary Flames with a big 6-3 victory over the LA Kings. Georges Laraque scored a hat trick that put the Oilers back in the top spot in the Northwest Division. The Oilers are playing their best hockey in years this past while, and it's finally paying off. Georges Laraque gets rewarded for his hard work all year long with his first career hat-trick. Things are going to be wild for the sretch-run!

With Edmonton's 2-1 win over Nashville, for the first time in AGES, the Oilers sit atop their division in 1st place. I love that feeling! As of tomorrow, all of the newspapers across the country will be showing Edmonton in 3rd place in the Western Conference, while the Colorado Avalanche will be in sixth. HA HA!! As for whether the Oilers can maintain their current position atop the Northwest division, that's hard to say. I think they have the ability to do it, but they cannot look down. It's going to be an exciting home-stretch!!

The Oilers pull off a BIG 5-4 OT win in Montreal tonight against the Canadiens. Terry Gregson, regarded as one of the better NHL officials had a very poor night. The Canadiens had 8 powerplays, of which 4 were created by dives. Let's see... In the Dive Department, these 3 Canadiens led the way:

Player Dives Drew Penalty on Dive
Martin Rucinsky 5 3
Danius Zubrus 2 1
Shayne Corson 1 1

There were more! These were just the obvious ones It's pathetic how some of these actors can fool an established NHL ref like Gregson into calling penalties on these embelishments. The Oilers had 4 powerplays; the Canadiens had 8. Nonetheless, a sweet, delicious victory for the Oilers over the

The Oilers are playing some of their best hockey in years this last little while! Even though we lost 2 games to Florida and Dallas (I consider it blasphemous to mutter the name Dallas. Yuch!), We got robbed by two hot goalies in Vernon and Belfour. But aside from, we're cooking! The Oilers cruise into the All-star break with 56 points! Not bad! Better than last year!

January 17, 2000

Hey. The Oilers actually didn't lose to the Red Wings! I'm shocked! Especially considering that it went into overtime. (and we all know about the Oilers in overtime!) For sure, when Yzerman raced in on that breakaway with 2 seconds left in the Overtime, I thought we were dead. But, Salo came up big and shut the 5-hole. Good job Oilers! Let's crush the Flames, Wednesday!!!! GO OILERS GO!!!

Well, the Oilers blew their second consecutive 2-0 lead at home. To Dallas, and now Toronto. Man, is that ever frustrating! If there are 2 teams in the league I depise, they are the Dallas Stars, and the Toronto Maple Leafs (I hate watching them every Saturday.
Anyways, there goes our 8 game home unbeaten streak. And now we get to face the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday. I'm smelling the putrid stench of 3-game losing streak coming up...
I sure hope that I'm proven wrong!
