The name of Alhaj Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ghani Saheb Saudagar
is forever linked to Kholapur.
In the year 1290 Hijri (1873 CE), he established a Dini Madrasa (Islamic School,
imparting education in Arabic, Islamic Studies, Persian and History) by the
name Madrasa Nawabia Islamia.
Nawab Abdul Ghani was recognized for his community and national services.
He was awarded a Certificate
by the Resident State of Hyderabad on behalf of
Queen Victoria
of Great Britain.
Three historic convocations (Ijlas-e-Dastarbandi) of the Madrasa took place.
The first one was in the lifetime of Nawab Abdul Ghani himself in the year 1311 Hijri (1893 CE).
The second convocation was conducted by
Nawab Mohammed Abdul Samad
(died in 1942, Picture) the elder son of
Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ghani Saheb.
The third convocation took place under the reign of
Nawab Mohammed Abdul Quader
(died in 1943, Picture) the younger son of
Nawab Abdul Ghani Saheb. Over the years the number of students in the resident
Madrasa declined. In 1950, Shaikh-ul-Hadees Maulana Abid Ali Wajid Al-Husimi Bhopali
rejuvenated and renamed the Madrasa as Anwarul Uloom.
To date the Madrasa is imparting education.
Nawab Abdul Ghani Saheb's daugheter,
Khadija Begum Saheba was a scholar.
She was educated by her Uncle (husband of father's sister),
Syed Mahmood Saheb and Maulana Syed Abdul Razzaq Saheb Baghdadi.
She was married to Nawab Elegant Abdul Waris Khan Saheb Bakhshi from Hyderabad.
Khadija Begum Saheba did not like the environment of Hyderabad!
After five or six years of marriage, she returned (issueless) to her hometown of Kholapur.
Her personal tragedy turned out to be blessing for the young girls of the family.
Khadija Begum Saheba dedicated rest of her life educating and guiding the upbringing of
every girl child born in the family.
She directly and indirectly benefited numerous generations of girl children.
Nawab Habibah Begum was the only child of
Nawab Mohammed Abdul Samad
(died in 1942, Picture) and Halima Bi Sahiba.
Halima Bi Sahiba was the sister of
Nawab Nyazuddin Khan Bahadur
(died in 19??, Picture),
the Landlord of the Bhadrah Estate. Habibah Begum received education and guidance
from the able hands of her aunt (father's sister), Khadija Begum Saheba.
She also received instruction in Perisan Language and Literature from a home tutor.
Habibah Begum thus acquired a diverse literary background spanning literature,
languages and in Islamic studies.
Habibah Begum married her maternal first cousin

who was the son of Nawab Nyazuddin Khan Bahadur

It has been a tradition in the family to marry the cousins.
Nawab Nyazuddin Khan Bahadur
(died in 19??, Picture) was the
Landlord of the Khujji and Behla Estates.
He had 84 villages in the Bhadra Estate and 32 villages in the Khujji Estate.
Khujji is in the

He was assigned the title of Nawab by the British Empire.
He went to Great Britain for his studies leading to Barrister-of-Law.
Nawab Nyazuddin Khan

fond of education and appointed a British Teacher to teach English to his daughter-in-law,
Habibah Begum. Nawab Habibah Begum was involved in numerous
philanthropic activities.
Nawab Habibah Begum was blessed with three sons and four daughters.
Shaukat Sultana the eldest daughter married Samiuddin Khan Saheb the Landlord
of Sherpur Estate. He had his education in UK and is Barrister-of-Law.
They are blessed with three daughters, Rubab, Afshan and Tazeen; and two sons
Salman Khan (married to his maternal cousin, Asma Khan, alias Seemee, the eldest
daughter of Nawab Nasiruddin Khan,
alias Altaf, Picture) and Kamran Khan
(married to his maternal cousin Syedah Bareera the youngest daughter of
Shameem Sultana).
The elder son, Nawab Sirajuddin Khan inherited the Behla Estate.
He married his maternal cousin Afroz Sultana. They are blessed with four sons
and three daughters. They are Nyazuddin Khan (alias Junaid), Minhajuddin Khan
(alias Shoeb married to Rohma the second daughter of
Nawab Nasiruddin Khan, alias Altaf,
Picture),
Umairuddin Khan (married to the elder daughter of Shaista Sultana), Yasiruddin Khan;
Humaira Fatema, Shaima Fatema and Hamna Fatema.
The younger son,

(alias Altaf, Picture) inherited the Khujji Estate.

two sons Zaheer Ahmed Khan and Sameer Ahmed Khan.
The youngest son, Nawab Zaheeruddin Khan died at a young age.
Shameem Sultana married Syed Mahmood Ali Tahir Saheb.
He retired as Sales Manager of the Royal Dutch Airlines, KLM.
They are blessed with four daughters: Syedah Shazia
(alias Beenoo, married to her maternal cousin, Irfan Khan the son of
Nawab Nasiruddin Khan
