1956 Assortment SeriesPost Cereals took a break from cars this year and experimented with trucks, busses, boats and even dollhouse appliances. Five varities of Fruehauf truck trailers(freighter, moving van, tanker, gooseneck, and flatbed) coupled with Ford tractor cabs in four different colors appeared on the scene with both black and white wheels. They came in orange, red, yellow and aluminum. Collecting both colored wheel series will total to forty vehicles. Also produced this year were a pair of Greyhound busses. The G.M. PD-4104 Highway Traveller and the G.M. PD-4501 Super Scenicruiser, both came in Greyhound Blue. Only two to collect in this group. Next came the Century speedboat series with two models, the Coronado and Arabian. They were molded in two pieces and assembled in red, dark blue, yellow, green and brown with white as the second color. Most came with solid windshields, but a few came with cut out windshield glass. With the different combinations, there is over twenty of the boats to collect. Each of these series also came with a mail in offer and all were manufactured by the F&F Mold and Die Works of Dayton, Ohio. |
