Moon Deities

The following is a small list of deities associated with the moon.

Andraste (British Celt)

A moon goddess worshipped by Queen Boadicea.

Atius Tirawa (Native American)

God of the sun, moon and stars.

Ba’alith (Canaan)

Goddess of love, the moon and the underworld, trees, springs and wells.

Bendis (Greece,Thrace)

Goddess of the moon and fertility.

Cerridwen (Wales)

A dark moon and nature goddess.

Ch’ang-O/Heng-O (China)

Goddess of the moon with her palace known as the Great Cold on the Moon.  During the autumn equinox females would offer the goddess crescent moon cakes and statues of little hares.

Fleachta of Meath (Ireland)

Moon queen of Ireland.

Hina (Hawaii)

Moon goddess with the dual ability of either life giver  or life destroyer.

Huitaca (Columbia, South America)

A moon goddess who weaves dreams.

Maia (Greece)

A full moon goddess associated with the month of May.
