Bat A creature associated with darkness and the moon. The bat was made evil and demonic in certain religions to stop people from worshipping the goddess. Circle Before this was taken over as a symbol of the sun it was a symbol of the moon. The stone circles on the Orkney Islands of Scotland are still called Temples of the Moon. Colour European triple goddesses used the following colours for their aspects. White-Maiden, Red-Mother and Black-Crone. Crystal This stone represents the full moon and its divinatory powers. Garden Grotto The moon goddess or god was often worshipped in a grotto or garden and contained either a Moon tree (e.g.. an Olive), sacred stone, a spring or all three. Moonstone A whitish, cloudy form of feldspar gemstone that is said to cure nervousness and bring good luck to its owner. Owl The owl has long been associated with the moon, wisdom and sacred lunar mysteries. Wishing Well The moon has been long associated with water and the granting of wishes or prayers. Willow A moon tree sacred to such Dark Moon deities as Hecate, Circe and Persephone. |
