Forecasting Weather By The Moon

The number of days old the moon is at the first snow tells how many snows there will be that winter.

A circle around the moon means rain. The closer the circle is to the moon the  sooner it will come.

If the winter new moon rises far in the south, it will be unusually warm.

If there is a cloudy morning during the waning moon, there will be a sunny afternoon.

If it starts raining on the day the moon is becomes full, it will rain until it quarters.

If there is a ring around the moon, count the number of stars in the ring and it will rain in that many days.

If there changes in the moon's appearance occurring on Sunday, it means heavy rains and flooding.

It will rain with in three days if the horns of the moon point down.

If the moon is resting on its back at the start of  the forth quarter, it will be a rainy week.

If the moon is red when it rises, expect rain the next day.

A change in the moon brings a change in the weather.

A clear yellow moon rising in a cloudless sky means fine weather to come.

A clear moon in the winter, means frost is on the way.

Several circles around the moon means several days (or long periods) of rain.

A circle around the moon means rain is coming soon.

The closer the circle is to the moon, the worse the weather will be.

An opening in the circle indicates what way the wind will blow.

A circle around the moon twill rain.

Pale moon doth rain, Red moon doth blow, White moon doth neither rain nor blow.

A ring around the moon means rain or snow is coming soon.

If the moon shows a silver shield, be not afraid to reap the field, but if she rises halowed round,  soon well tread on deluged ground.

If the winter new moon rises far in the north,  it will be a cold month.
