In September of 2003, my mom came to visit me at school. I had a couple of Bettas, but she thought a tank would be a nice thing for me to have in my room. We went shopping and decided on a teal five gallon MiniBow aquarium. Teal gravel was chosen, along with some decorative "stone" things, a resin decoration, some plastic plants, and some bulbs to grow. Once we arrived back at the dorm, I set up my fish tank as per the instructions. Twenty four hours later I excitedly returned to Wal-Mart to get fish. There is a long story that follows this, but I won't go in to it right now. (I'm more interested in getting this page up and running than I am in typing my entire "fish story".) For now, I'll just say that I made a lot of mistakes and quickly learned a lot about fish. Thanks to the folks at Tropical Fish Forum I have learned lots about my fish and have even raised babies!
Three months later, I am hopelessly addicted to fish! Who knew that I would become addicted to fish almost as badly as I was to goats? My current aquariums consist of a 10 gallon tropical community tank, a five gallon fry-raising tank (for now - I want to turn it in to a little community tank), two one gallon tanks each with a Betta, and a one and a half gallon tank with a Betta. Residents of the 10 gallon tank include Corys, a little Pleco, Platys, and a Betta. Oh yes, and one ghost shrimp.
Here is a fairly recent picture of my 10 gallon tank:
As I get time, I will add more pictures of my fish and tanks and hopefully about fish in general.
