Swimming / Diving / Waterskiing / Surfing

On the whole, swimming is a very safe sport, and is often part of a therapy. Chlorine content of the pool can lead to conjunctivitis. While unchlorinated pools can cause fungal infections. Long distance swimming can cause swimmer's shoulder (shoulder rupture) or swimmer's knee (ligament strain).

Diving should be supervised at all times. Fatal neck injuries can result. Impact velocity can lead to wrist, thumb and shoulder injuries. Hypothermia, back injuries and occasional head injuries are common in surfing and water skiing.
