Incarnation Eight
6th of October, 2003 - 12:46 AM
Finished the new site incarnation for this special day. I was almost afraid I wouldn't get it all done in time... did quite a bit in the late hours yesterday. What special day is it, you ask? Two years ago on this day is when this site came into creation. 'Twas only one page... and the site didn't actually open for another week, but 'twas the beginning for this site. I look at the site now and am amazed at how far has come along. Only about 20 or so pages then, and now 'tis rather close to, if not over, 200 pages. (If that seems a bit high, then take into account that my poetry section alone is roughly 60 web pages.)
I have quite a bit to write about some of the changes, so please do excuse my next paragraph which will probably appear to be something of a jumbled mess. 'Tis just me trying to remember everything. You'll probably notice the new design is similar to the last one. I recycled quite a bit of the old design in the process of making this design. There were actually a lot of pieces I liked from the old design. Some of the pages may require a bit more loading time, however, and may create a few more annoying pop-ups... which aren't so bad provided they actually stay within the page itself. Removed the games section from the site... 'twas a drain on storage and I don't think many were using it. If 'tis really a bother, I could always put it back up. The Dragon's Shrine is also finally back up and functioning, even if 'tisn't very good yet. (Wonder how many times I've misspelled "shrine" as "shine"... Caught myself doing that in this update.) Everything else should be fairly similar, if not the same, as before. I really hope you all like this new design... but do let me know if there are problems with it. (Hoping the design doesn't exceed my allowed bandwidth often...) New content! I noticed that there weren't many images created this year up. Should have probably noticed that a lot sooner, but at least I caught it at all. *grins* So, 11 new images have been added to the site. That's right... 11! 10 for the main gallery, and 1 for the special gallery. Do take note that some are not completed images, and probably never will be completed. Also one new poem from me, and three new poems from Pandora in the appropriate sections. Lots of things to look at today. Probably be some more poetry from myself rather soon. Inspiration has bitten me a bit, and there are things swirling about my skull. All Hallow's Eve also occurs this month, which means I need to update Halloween Education page of this site with some new links. If you know of any informative sites, send them my way and I might add them to the page. Wow... hope I remembered everything. If not, I'll mention what I missed in my next update. Have fun, try to stay sober, and don't be putting metal objects into electrical outlets. 13th of October, 2003 - 12:01 AM
Quite a bit of content for this update as well. A new poem from me and 15 poems from Pandora. That should keep you all entertained for a while... and if not, then I have to wonder why you are here. Got lost, perhaps? *grins*

*sigh* Corrected an error on one of Pandora's poems. Her poem "Death Flower" should be accurate now. On a more pleasant note, a new poem from me. Yay! Now, if I could only update more often...

I have been gone for quite some time. Dead in sense, one could say. I honestly cannot promise I am truly back now. Yet, after a bit of poking and prodding, I am making my first update in over a year. There are reasons for my disappearance, but none of them are particularly impressive. So, we shall just leave it at I had reasons.
Ah, but to the point. A new poem from a new poet. "Fire" by Elviol. Anyone left around here should read it. Read it now. If you don't know the way there (and I won't blame you if you don't), take the "Submitted Poems" link to the left. Now go... read it already. Incarnation Nine

Gods, lots to say today. Let's start with the simple things. The idle chatter which I suspect most people skip over to get to the important details of an update. I have not a care, however, I am going to chatter anyway. I hope those of you in the States had a pleasant Independence Day, and I also hope Canada Day was grand for our friends in Canada. Hopefully nobody got too drunk or lost a bodypart from some sort of colourful explosive.
Now to the obvious. A new design opening the doors to a new incarnation... or at least 'twould if I had finished it. The majority of it is done; most of the difficult parts out of the way. I just need to tinker with a few bits here and there and all should be grand. I shall rant a bit more about it when I finish. That does not mean we should not celebrate what is finished, though. To do so, there is quite a bit of new content added to the site. Two new poems from Pandora in the Submitted Poems area. (Quite good they are. I suggest reading them after you read this update.) A new poem from myself as well. Yay. No worries, I have more I'm working on for the next update or so. Also if you sent me any poems in the last 10-12 months and they aren't up, go ahead and send them to me again. I know there were a few, but sadly I lost them during my absence. I apologize for this. I'm going to try to schedule myself so I can update at least once a week. Finally, a bit of a rant. Well, maybe not so much a rant... I was rather amused. I got my first bit of hate mail. I'm surprised I didn't get any sooner, especially since I've been gone so long. Anyway, I won't comment on who 'twas from as I like to think of myself as an honourable fellow (and it really did give me a good chuckle), but the message basically said that I, my poetry, and poetry in general are "gay". And he even sent a second message which basically repeated the sentiments of the first message. If you are going to insult me, that's fine. I am well aware some people aren't fond of poetry. At least be creative with the insults, though. I also fail to see how homosexuality is in some way negative. I, myself, am not homosexual, but I have no negative feelings toward those who choose to be so. In fact, I support one's right to be homosexual. I thank the writer of the attempted insults for inspiring a grand idea. I think I'll search out some links to sites supporting gay rights at some point, especially ones in regard to homosexual marriages here in the States... Honestly, who does it hurt if a woman weds a woman or a man weds a man? |
