Here we see Teknoman Slade. His real name, unbeknownst to him, is Ness Carter. His family was on a science vessel headed for Jupiter when they were ambushed by Venemoids. The entire crew, including his family, were taken by them and the Venemoids tried to turn them all into biomechanical warrior slaves called "Teknomen." Most did not survive the process, but he was among the few. Thanks to the efforts of Slade's father, he was able to escape after he was transformed. He was jettisoned from the Venemoids' ship, and months later, meets up with the Space Knights. He can only transform into Teknoman for 30 minutes at a time, though. After that, the Venemoid programming takes effect and he loses all control over himself. Even though he likes Star, he keeps a distance from her and everyone else. He is constantly in fear of loosing his humanity. Trivia: In the undubbed version, he was originally "Tekkaman Blade," and was nickenamed "D-Boy" by the Space Knights, which is short for "Dangerous Boy." |
This is Star Summers. She is the navigtor of the Blue Earth. She was willing to give Slade the benifit of the doubt from the beginning, when others were fearful and suspicious of him. Over time, she grows close to him and and eventually falls in love with him. Ultimately, it is her who brings him to his senses after his temporary, though traumatic loss of sanity. | ![]() |

Pictured at right is Maggie Matheson. She, along with "Mac" MacElroy (left), make up the engineering team at Space Knights Headquarters. They work on the Blue Earth as well as the Teknobot, which they had to build to amplify the power in Slade's Tekno-crystal after it was shattered by Gunner. Later, they modify Slade's beam weapon to fire anti-matter warheads instead of quantum energy. Mac always keeps a cool head when the pressure is on and does his job with skill. Maggie, while also quite good at what she does, always wishes she was a part of the action. Trivia: In the original version of the cartoon, Maggie was actually a cross-dressing man! (I kinda like it better the way it is in the English version.) | ![]() |

Tina Corman is the Space Knights' communications officer. (She's supposed to be about 19, but looks much, much younger.) While not out on the front lines, she still plays a vital role, not only with her position, but as the official "kawaii" (cute) character. Every anime series needs one, and she's it here. In adition to this pivotal character architype, she also reminds Slade of his sister in their childhood. She was sent out to bring slade under control when he exceeded his 30 minutes as Teknoman and ran amok, since the two of them share an almost sibling-like bond. |
Commander Jamison the Space Knights' leader, strategist, and basically the head honcho, is typically at odds with Earth's millitay forces, more specifically with General Galt. The debates are especially heated with regard to Slade. He cares about his crew, Slade included, and will allow none of them to simply be viewed as pawns. To keep Slade out of Galt's hands, he allows the millitary scientists to take him into custody to study the Venemoid technology in his Tekno-armor. Then, Jamison orchestrates his "escape" to bring him back home safely. Interesting detail about Jameson: He is albino. | ![]() |
