It's party season. And RT has a party reason. We're Turning Three. On April 24, 2000, Exenkley County citizens climbed aboard a Raleigh Transit bus for the first time, and after three years, the ride is nowhere near ending. The stops we've already served have included doubling our fleet size, increasing ridership and hours of service and helping to launch a new county wide transit link. But more importantly, we have become an integral part of hundreds of lives--college students attending Bennett University, office workers heading home after a long day, children going to the library or park, a busy mother going shopping at North Hills Mall, or someone taking night school classes at Bennett University. We are proud to serve you, Exenkley County.
To kick off our celebration, Thursday April 24 through Saturday April 26 will be Free Ride Days. Come to the Transit Center at North Hills Mall for more festivities beginning at12 PM on Saturday. These will include a free barbeque and speeches by RT's General Manager, DART General Manager Lisa Bierly and Raleigh's mayor.
We're increasing Line 12 service. Again.Effective January 2, 2003:Morning & Evening Peak Service:RT is adding one bus to Line 12's rush hour service. This will result in headways decreasing from 20 minutes to 15 minutes, which will facilitate transferring at Durham Amtrak.
