8.21.02 - Tactics and Chronicles and Adventures, OH MY!

Reports from Japanese gaming mag Famitsu Cube and Advance say that the GBA title Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is not a remake of the Playstation FFT, but an entirely orginal game (wait, it gets better). It has also be reported that the game will feature a 2-player battle mode (Oh. Hell. Yeah.)

There's also some new info on Final Fantasy: Chronicle. Frist, Square is saying that the game is much more action-oriented than its predecessors and that many of the old RPG standards will not be present in the game. Secondly, there are reports that the title will only be playable with support from the GBA via the GBA/GC link-cable. This makes the game sound a lot like it's focus will be on multi-player aspects, but just how those 'aspects' will be implemented are unknown at this time.

In the final bit of news from Square-land, the previously announced GBA Seiken Densetsu title will, supposedly, be a remake of the first game in the series. Known as Final Fantasty Adventure in the US, the game was orginally released for Gameboy, many, many years ago.

in today's Tid-bits: Interplay has announced that their over head hack-n-slasher Hunter: The Reckoning will be coming to Gamecube later this winter. On Nintendo's website SimCity 2000 has been announced for Game Boy Advance, but there are no details on the title at this time. There is now offical confrimation that Treasure's much-anticipated shooter Ikargua is on it's way to the GameCube in January 2003. Finally, Sega has announced that their first game for Chihiro (Microsoft's arcade hardware) will be House of the Dead 3, a title already in development for MS's X-Box.
