Vikelton:

Land of Rock

You can enter Vikelton through any expanse of its border--that's not to say you'll be welcomed, or even make it far. The plains, bogs, and marshes are over-run with Minotaur, the forests with Horn-Hunters, and the lakes and bays with Capricos.

Minotaurs are steadfast creatures who move slowly across their lands. They make their homes of wood, or the occassional barren cave and mate for life. They provide for their children better than some humans do, and they can be caring if unprovoked. They are not, however, tolerant of intruders, unless they are neighboring Minotaurs, and have brought a fruitcake to share over a cup of tea. They have no further causes in life than to gain security and make a name to pass to their children. Do not barge in on one's meals, however, as they can become nasty.

Horn-Hunters are bands like gypsies. They travel the forests in search of their prey and have a merry time while they are at it. They are humanoid, with the strange talent of Unicorn Trapping. They have nearly hunted their counterparts to extinction, and when that happens, they do not know what they will do. Yet they still do it. They are also family-oriented, and do not like outlanders. If you happen to bump into a hunting party, make a joke, bow your head and be polite. They will understand. They may even allow you to stay an evening or two.

Capricos are not unlike Myrr People, in that they do have fish tails, or fins, have as you like. They also have human torsos and heads. In addition to that layout, however, they have goat horns from their forheads and a set of stubby goat legs, if you can imagine. They are practically useless to today's generation, but they used to be beneficial. Now the proud Capricos display their mastering of the land by using their back legs in a ceremony once a year. They drag their fins in the dirt, at a counter-balance to their torso, and they hobble about on legs that have shrunk over generations. Now a days they find it more beneficial to stay in their safe homes, in the water, with their families. They have business and everything they could possibly need in their tightly-knit communities, which is why you rarely see them elsewhere.

The forests spread from the Mu'Spell Southern border of Vikelton, to the northern border with Nie'Fell. In between are the marshes, bogs, and fields, where the other species dwell. To the North, with Nie'Fell, there are intense mountains running from the oceans of the West, to a thin strip of forest to the East, where some can cross. The Nico Forests of Vikelton break about a hundred yards from the border, where the Fog Jungles pick up and block many a traveller from entering the Northern Country.

Lastly, there are the Volk Hisata. The Moon People. They are on the Southern boundary with Mu'Spell. No one is quite sure where they came from, but Norweigian Overworlders coined the phrase 'Moon People'. They have a small city near the Heste Peaks. Near their city is either Crater Del Lune, or Crater Buraque. This is the area that the Centaur are fighting for. The Centaur believe that it is where their god, Buraque kicked off into the heavens while being pursued many centuries ago. The Volk Hisata...well, it cannot be said, what they think, because no one has ever seen one. Metallic messengers have been sent to deal with the Centaur that tresspass on the Crater, and this is what many species consider to be the Volk Hisata. From their domed buildings, there are no windows or doors. You cannot see into their city.
