Entry 1

Dear Mother,

Good news!  I am no longer the captive of the Kobold nations to the south.  Ba’Luk was able to get enough funds together to barter for my ransom.  The bad news is that I owe a huge debt to the church.  I hope to repay them soon, but don’t worry I still have enough to send you some this month.  My mission failed, but the good news is that I will be getting some new armor made by Aria soon.  I lost my last set when I was released by the Kobolds.  Aria is not at all happy with me, but is nonetheless working on the new breastplate as I write this note.  Sorry I haven’t sent any letters lately, the Kobolds wouldn’t let me have any ink or parchment.  I think they assumed I could turn it into a snake or something.  One thing is for sure, I will never look at rat stew the same way again.

Entry 2

Dear Mother,

Ba’Luk had another mission for me this morning.  Apparently some undead have been ravaging a village to the north called Gand.  The duke himself spoke to the temple of Kord and I was given the assignment.  Ba’Luk asked me to bring along some help, and Aria has offered her services to the temple as well.  We are both pretty excited.  I will be riding Terura to Gand this time.  I know that he is getting along in years, but that just makes him even easier to ride.  Aria is tired of waiting for me to catch up, and says that I look silly wearing full plate with a longspear instead of a lance on top of a leather barded mule older than her grandmother.  I am just happy to not have to walk there, or have to strap myself down to a rideable horse so that it doesn’t buck me off.  She says Hi, and we both hope that you are doing good.  We should be arriving in Gand tomarrow.

Entry 3

Dear Mother,

I had my first run in with undead last night.  After writing that letter to you, I fell asleep for the night.  When I awoke, there was this horrible smell.  Kindof like Terura when he gets in the stream on a hot day.  When I opened up my eyes there was this horrible beast with rotted teeth slashing at my armor.  I got up and did that trick that Ba’Luk taught me a while back.  I focused the might of Kord into my holy symbol and turned the creatures from us.  That helped for the short term, but didn’t do much in the end, as we had to track them to dispatch them later.  But we were successful and made our way into Gand with our heads held high.
