| SEISHIN-DO KARATE RYU & OUR 2nd YEAR | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| VOLUME 2 ISSUE 1 Newsletter date July 2000 KARATE FOSTERS RIGHTOUSNESS If you look into what Funakoshi meant by this statement it may seem out of caricature to the western exponent of karate. If you look at the statement through you as a person and through your training then a better understanding of how you train and what you should be getting out of your training. You have to be true to yourself, then this will eventually benefit all. |

| PROGRESS Progresss and development of your training.This is an area that is still of some concern. I would like to see the progress of a student's training be a gradual one, but it seems to me that there is only 2 methods of training that most people these day's adopt and that is the couldn't care less attitude and the one of I've tried that once so that will do. This is no good in martial arts training, you must give all your efforts to your practice, do not be satisgied with your second best efforts. If you put wholeheartedly all your effort into something then you can stand back proud and say I've done my very best. |

| St. Patricks RC demo ON July 9th 2000 we did a short demo for the St. Patricks RC at Langly Moor. We would like to thank those who attended your efforts we greatly appreciated. Thanks to Lisa for putting it onto video. That shows up our mistakes. Oops. JULY'S GRADING Those of you who are grading this month should know when, where and at what time. Those who would like to come along and watch are welcome on the understanding that they will be on their best behaviour as those grading must have the respect due. |
THE WORKBOOK Your workbook: the system we have completing your workbook and for your sensei's to sign them off has changed, the new method is as follows: We will still ask you to bring in your workbook once a month to be brought up to date. Tou should be checking your progress to see if your training is on track. You will be able to grade if your hours are up to date. The only way you will be able to apply for DAN grade is if your workbook is fully completed. There will be no exceptions to this statement. |
