Sierra Gold Quilters Guild members make quilts for the community. The members can pick up fabric for these quilts at the Community Quilt Table during Business meetings. We provide all that is needed to complete a quilt. The sizes can very from baby to adult quilts. As these quilts are finished and turned in, a committee will decide on where to donate the quilts.
A Community Quilt Workshop is organized once or twice a year where members come together to learn a new technique or a block to make into a new Community Quilt. January 27th was a day of learning, sewing, laughing, and eating for 36 of our members. Several of those quilts were finished in time to “show and tell” at the next Guild meeting in February. Many more of these workshop blocks are expected to be shown in March.
We now have a repertoire of several easy and fun patterns as well as cut squares that can be quickly put together for a quick quilt.
